A TRIBUTE TO RICK.....

Do any of you remember the song "Peanuts" recorded by Rick and the Keens in the early 1960's?  "Rick" was from the North Texas area, and was the only recording artist from Wichita Falls, who performed live on American Bandstand.  “Peanuts” reached the top 10 in the nation for 14 weeks. His dance band was together for 28 years, during that time he played with Elvis Presley in Fort Worth, Texas.

Richard A. Cook passed away December 5, 2008, in Burkburnett, Texas.  He was a man who loved God, loved his family, and served faithfully in the church he attended.  He was a Sunday School teacher, choir director, and a good friend to many.  His obituary can be found in the Wichita Falls Times and Record News, dated Sunday, December 7, 2008.
